For years I'd walk by the base President signboard and think it's had to have been there for years. It's a cheap tawdry looking thing featuring a Sic Bo board, some dice and stacks of chips. The other one on the side of the hotel displaying a Baccarat board may even be a little worse. They both look completely out of place, like a back alley establishment would doing business in the middle of an uptown borough, or like parts of Havana might look in Rome.
Not that I ever really blamed the President though. I knew it opened years before Macau gaming opened up to foreign investors and the scene on Avenue D'Amizade changed forever. The fact that it predates every other casino and mega property in the area Lisboa excluded stood for something with me. That's why I always tended to cut the signboard a little slack. As base as it might be, you could almost consider it a living piece of history. Or so I thought until I wrote this review.
It turns out that while the President hotel opened up in , it's only had a casino since That means the signboard that I always took to be over thirty years old is in fact only five! Starworld is directly opposite it. The President's casino is downright tiny, composed of 14 baccarat tables, one sic bo table and one blackjack table.
It used to be take up two floors but a recent remodel reduced the gaming to a single floor. The table minimums are among the lowest you'll find in Macau. It has to be one or the other. I learned that the hard way trying to double down on a Hong Kong dollar bet with only patacas in my pocket. The only entertainment available in the casino is the Chinese pop music that plays over the PA system. Compared to Macau's other casinos, the vibe at the President is very low key.
There are no flashing lights or dancing shows or throngs of people to navigate through. It's just simple, relaxed, at your own pace gambling. Next to the cashier counter is a small bar where drinks can be ordered. No part of the casino is smoke free. From what I saw, there are no promotions in the hotel of any kind, and definitely no player card. The 21 floor Hotel President has rooms.

The location is appropriate as its just a minute drive from the Ferry Terminal and in the middle of the city. Walking distance to major casinos in the city and also walking distance to the market for shopping and eating. This time I felt all the staffs are much more friendly than before, I think it is necessary because of the competition on all surrounding 5 stars hotels!!! Room is comfort and warming. I stayed at the Presidente during a 3 day poker holiday in Macau.
The location is excellent. It is a very short walk to the Starworld Casino where I played poker every night. Check in was quick and the staff were professional and polite. The room was massive. It was very comfortable and elegant and was a very reasonable price for Macau. The bed was comfortable. The room was very quiet and I slept well for the duration. The only thing lacking in the hotel really is an international restaurant. There is a Chinese restaurant that I ate at once.
It was funny, they didn't know what to do when I walked in. I got the impression they don't get many western people there. After much frantic gesturing I was able to convince them that I actually wanted to eat there as they thought I was lost at first. The food was very good and was authentic Chinese food of course. There is a small cafe in the lobby also. Overall, I had a very good stay and I would recommend the Presidente for anyone wanting an elegant room at a very good value.
I will definitely be staying there on my next Macau jaunt. Presidente Hotel is one of the best hotel S I have ever stayed in the world. The working staff there are very friendly and the guest rooms are very clean. The breakfast is included and the service is very considerate. I will surely recommend this hotel to my friends who are going to Macau. If you like a quieter hotel, try Presidente Hotel.
Most 5 stars hotel in Macau are big and you have to walk alot. The lobby can be crowded with gamblers. On the other hand, the rooms here are clean and have good view of Wynn hotel. Within short walking distance, there is a money changer and mini-mart. You can access to major casinos easily. The hotel staff here are friendly and helpful. However, there is a need to walk to bus-stop nearby and couldnt use bus-stop in front of hotel for Public Buses.
We have stayed at Presidente Hotel on our last 4 visits to Macau. The hotel is very central for shopping. The staff is excellent and the rooms are very clean. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Macau. The Presidente Hotel was the best place to stay in Macau! The hotel staff were very friendly and the room was spacious and very clean.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is visiting Macau in the near future! For people who like gambling, alot of casino near by and hotel itself also provide gambling. Some local attractive place just in within walking distance. Hotel outlook abit old compare with other hotel inside same area. Room consider clean and comfortable, and hotel do provide free chocolate and drink inside mini bar for deluxe suite customer. And also must control some smoker and not allow them to smoking inside the elevator.
Our room is located on the 16th floor of Presidente Hotel. We were able to use the free shuttle services provided by the 5-star hotels to get to most of the tourist attractions as well as to Fisherman's Wharf and Ferry Terminal. It is quite clear that anyone can hop in and out of these shuttle buses irrespective of whether you are their guest or not.
The place is neither busy nor crowded and we feel very safe walking around even late at night. Most people there are decent looking and very helpful when we ask for information or direction. The taxi drivers that we encountered need to show more courtesy and patience.
Overall we have a good stay and we are thankful to Agoda for giving us a good rate through advance booking. Stayed only one night. Hotel and casino older than recent additions to Macau, but suited our needs and budget. Did not require all the trimmings and glitz of 5 star hotels.
Room clean and well appointed. Check in and checkout services efficient. Other services basic. Could not find free shuttle bus at ferry terminalon arrival. They have one but infrequent. Best to take Lisboa Shuttle and walk metres to Presidente Hotel. Although the exterior of Presidente looks dated, the interior of the hotel rooms exudes class.
I was given a room with two super single beds and soft and comfy beds, so much so we overslept and the hotel was kind enough to offer us late checkout by an hour. The major casinos are nearby and moving around to everywhere was a breeze. The presence of Ding Tai Fung nearby also meant that finding 24 hours food was a breeze. This is a hotel that I wouldn't mind booking again for my next trip to Macau.
The only drawback was the presences of "solicitors" in the hotel's cafe. Macau Hotels. Book Presidente Hotel. See all properties in Macau. Presidente Hotel. Free Wi-Fi. Guest policies.
