So I read a LOT of the reviews for this resort and there are definitely some negative ones. I requested a specific building when I booked the trip and got the one I wanted so just an fyi. We had an ocean view room as well. I was a bit nervous about the resort but for the price you really can't beat it.
The bus drive is long from the airport to the resort but it's comfortable. I really enjoyed this resort, the grounds are very well kept. We had some issues with the room but they were always addressed quickly. Also thought the beds were comfortable. We also had a fridge already in the room. We paid the extra for the safe. I wasn't sure what to expect with the stairs and they weren't an issue for me, I ate so much I appreciated the bit of extra energy that it took me ….

I have been to various Decameron Hotels and this one tops them all. Lovely restaurants with great varied and delicous food, a nice beach with a mild sea and good service. We had a honeymoon plan so we were pampered with a serenaded supper, free use of spa once among other thing.
Some things we disliked about the Hotel: the rooms are not soundproof to the minimum extent so we could hear kids jumping around and yelling about in the next room. Another thing probably because I'm not used to it was the two hour bus ride from the Airport.
Finally, if you get there in the morning the Hotel was not helpful at all in helping us check in before so we had to leave our luggage at the from desk for about 4 hours. We arrived on a Nolittour from Canada, we have been a few tours over the years and Nolitours was very well organized. After arriving in Panama City expect a 2 to 2.
We traveled with young children and this was a family vacation. Upon arrival a restaurant is booked and the food is terrific - near 5 star quality. We stayed in a standard room which would be considered average. The beach is great and the included activities - sea kayaking and paddle boat rentals were a favorite with the kids.
Also, the kids loved the 15 minute scuba diving program in the pool. Wifi internet is available in the rooms, restaurant and beach.. Crystal W wrote a review Dec Nice, clean resort with an amazing beach! A great value as the resort is spacious, clean and has an amazing beach. Ocean is warm although not very clear. It is a distance from the ariport and other things but there really is no reason to leave the resort. The resort is on a hillside and spread out so there is plenty of walking involved but with all the food and drink its good excercise.
We went Dec 7th - 14th and had a couple sprinkles a couple of times which we expected since we were at the tail end of the rainy season. It didnt put a damper on our trip though. There are 7 a'la carte place and they are easy to book with 3 time slots per evening.
We tried 4 of them and enjoyed the Thai and Fusion the best. There is also 3 buffets that have a great selection that changes daily. We found the Panami by Lobby 1 the best …. The temperature in September would likely be around 35, but there is usually a breze off the ocean. Unless I was going on a trip that day, I had lunch and then a siesta from in my airconditioned room. It was then I hit the beach to lay in the sun or under the shade or walk down the beach. Thie meant that I was good to go until midnightish when it's very balmy and nice..
I also rose at am and joined the flocks of people already up and walking. This I found was the best way. Only mad dogs and englishmen go out in the noonday sun. Friends of mine played golf. They said it was great, but they did golf early in the day. There is all kinds of transport if you find walking too much.
I stayed Oceanside not Gardenview as well. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity. We hope you'll join the conversation by posting to an open topic or starting a new one.
